Fork seals! Perhaps one of the biggest "little" aggravations of motorcycling is a weeping fork seal. There are steps you can take to help prevent this from happening to your Concours. The most important is to always run with some kind of fork tube protectors. While we prefer you use our KB Forkbrace and the optional protectors that come with it, you
may spring for just some good ole "fork socks" such as the NOJs. In 99 Kawasaki started using press on protectors for the Concours forks (a very good thing).
Motorcycle fork seals are basically plain oil seals, used on the forks in this case! You may be able to find a seal that will work at your local auto parts or industrial bearing supply house. The only problem is there are a few styles of seals out there. Double lip/single lip, etc.
Don't mess around, be sure you're getting what you need by getting them from Murphs'!
We have decided to go with an after-market seal company that uses seals made in Japan, and I believe are OEMs. We offer replacement seals as well as seals with wipers (dust covers). Pricing is "per pair", which will take care of one motorcycle.
We also now offer Maxima Fork Oil in both 15wt and 20wt, rounding out your fork seal changing needs.
You can help to simplify this maintenance task with a fork oil level tool, at a discounted price when bought in the package deal.
And hey, while you're at it, go ahead and get the new circlip and washer kit to complete the job!
The price shown above is for a pair of seals only. The wipers, or dust covers, are a bit extra. In addition, different parts are needed for different years, so be sure to make the correct selection from the drop down option list.
As always, shipping to the lower 48 states is included in the price!
