My name is Gary Murphy, I own and operate murphskits.com, the web presence of Murphskits LLC. I’ve written this page to help new customers know who we are and how we do things. Also to keep people abreast of some problems we've had lately as far as delayed deliveries and other issues that may be temporarily affecting our normal high standard of service. The title came to me on my last trip to the Concours Owners Group National Rally. I mean, who hasn’t heard “recalculating” spit out from their GPS, right? I felt it a fit description to what happens in the day to day running of a business. Despite planning and preparation, there are route changes and delays you simply never saw coming.

SHAD 42 Liter Backrest - For some reason, these seem to get left off the boat from Spain, as of July 24th Shad assures me they will be sent by August 1st. They didn’t mention the year. -
COLOR Panel For Shad Trunks - Currently at the painters, all prepped but not shot. Very disappointed in our service from this vendor. We have since dropped offering custom matched panels. -
Not returning a phone call - Being just Patty and myself, it is getting hard for me to respond to all the phone messages we receive. I do review the phone messages and try to prioritize. However, I have been known to just overlook a call as well. I’m very limited in the time I have to return calls. Normally this is between 6 and 8 PM Central time. If you’re calling to place an order, you will be better served doing so online. If you have a fear of using your credit card online please read this: “All of our credit card transactions are processed online by a secure third party, whether you place your order via our website, or you phone your information to us. Our card processor uses the latest methods and technology to insure a secure transaction.” There should be no more apprehension using your card online with us than swiping it at the local gas station, both systems are using the internet to process your transaction. -
Not returning an email - We run a very open email address, but from time to time a letter gets trashed by a spam filter. Because of our commercial appearing email address, chances are your spam filter trashed us, so look there for your reply. If you are emailing concerning an order please include the order number in the correspondence. We are an internet driven business and we do not intentionally ignore an email. If you have not received a reply, something is truly amiss. On the second attempt to contact us please make sure to include your phone number. -
My order still says “Processing” - We use open source software and sometimes have to suffer at not being able to write “code”. My shipping programs currently do not talk to my shopping cart program. When you check on the status of your order, and it says “processing” you can be reasonably assured that your order has been shipped, or has been forwarded to the few companies from which we drop ship. -
Back Orders - They suck out loud, you hate them, we hate them more. We do everything in our power to prevent us from getting into a back order situation. We will work to resolve all back orders as soon as possible. -
Tracking Number - Our FedEx and USPS mail programs automatically generate emails with the shipping information. The USPS mail program sends you a DELIVERY CONFIRMATION number, not a true tracking number. We are currently working on being able to get tracking numbers to our customers for the few companies from which we drop ship.
If you are calling regarding an order please leave your name, the order number, and your phone number. If you are calling just for general information, don’t be detruded! I will try to answer your call, it just may take a while. Please keep in mind, if you called from a cell phone we may have only received a third of the conversation.
